September Monthly Progress Report
September was an exciting month for Tim’s Club. From key construction steps to growing our community, we’re moving closer every day to making this vision a reality 💛
🌧 Infrastructure Engineer Hired
At the recommendation of our architect, Nelly, we hired an infrastructure engineer this month to design our drainage and stormwater management system. Because of the position of our land (next to a farm and in an area that sees heavy rains), it was important to bring in the right expert now rather than risk problems later.
By doing this upfront, we’ve ensured the site will be properly prepared and everything is set up right from day one. It’s one more step that gives us peace of mind knowing Tim’s Club will have a strong and lasting foundation.
👷 Construction Meeting
We had a construction meeting this week, and the excitement is building! With the blueprints officially finalized, our team is now working on quoting, sourcing materials, and preparing for the next stage 🎉
We also have all the documents ready to submit for permits next week – one of the final steps before we can officially break ground.
💡 Strengthening Our Fundraising Strategy
Behind the scenes, we’ve been working on a brand new fundraising strategy, thanks to the support and guidance of our new committee member, Deb. With over 30 years of experience in special needs education and nonprofit fundraising, she’s been such a gift to this project.
🎥 One of the new pieces in progress is a fundraising video we’re filming in the coming weeks. This will help us share the heart of Tim’s Club with even more people and invite them to be part of what we're building!
💛 Community BBQ
This month we hosted a family BBQ – and it was wonderful to see our Tim’s Club family grow. Events like this are about so much more than food and music. For people with disabilities, opportunities for social interaction can be limited, so gatherings like these are truly special. Families told us their loved ones were literally counting down the days to the BBQ, and the joy on everyone’s faces reminded us why this space is so needed.
