We believe in reimagining
possibilities.

Our Mission

Tim’s Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting those with autism & intellectual disabilities to lead a full, purposeful life. We’re building a specialized day program as well as spaces and education to support our local community.

The Vision

For our full-time members:

We’ll be providing a fun, inspiring place to go each day, to develop life skills and be part of a community.

For our local community:

Our cafe and co-working space is designed to be a welcoming hub for everyone, from our neighbours in Panama to visitors worldwide. Our goal is to build an inclusive community, foster friendship, and encourage collaboration.

This initiative brilliantly combines integration, education, and enjoyment, creating a brighter and more connected community for everyone involved!

What we’re building:

Each of these spaces is designed to enhance the wellbeing of individuals with autism & intellectual disabilities, providing them with varied opportunities for learning, growth, social interaction, and self-expression.

Community Cafe

The cafe is part of the non-profit, with all profits from the cafe going back to develop & run Tim’s Club.

It offers members meaningful opportunities to practice social interaction, teamwork, and responsibility by engaging with cafe guests and staff in a real, supportive setting.

Classrooms/Day Program Rooms

These rooms are where daily life skills are built – through art, music, games, and structured activities that support communication, social connection, and growing independence in a calm, supportive environment.

Outdoor Movement Space

This open-air space is designed for movement, yoga, stretching, and exercise focused on enjoyment, regulation, and overall wellbeing.

Garden

The garden provides hands-on opportunities to learn practical skills like planting, caring for plants, and harvesting food. These skills will help build confidence and contribute to the community.

 Our Values

Everyone belongs here

We believe every individual deserves to feel valued, respected and included. We strive to create a community where diversity is celebrated, barriers are removed, and everyone has the opportunity to thrive and contribute their unique talents and perspectives.

Everything we do has a ripple effect

We believe that every action has the potential to create a chain reaction of positive change. A single project or initiative can set off a series of events, inspiring others to take action, advocating for change, and creating a collective wave of impact.

Reimagine possibilities

We believe in thinking creatively and applying entrepreneurial thinking to tackle the world's problems. We believe in challenging conventional wisdom, pushing boundaries, and fostering a culture of innovation to design and implement unique solutions.

The Backstory

Tim’s Club was founded by me (Louise) and inspired by Tim, my non-verbal younger brother with autism.

Growing up, our family’s biggest worry was what opportunities and support would be available to Tim as he transitioned into adulthood. We truly believe that everyone deserves to live a meaningful life within the community, in an environment of acceptance and understanding.

When I looked back at our happiest times in life, it was when we were basking in the sunshine and swimming in the ocean. That’s when the dream was solidified - move to a tropical location & set up a program so that Tim, and others like him, could experience joy, growth and opportunity.

Tim’s Club is designed to be a vibrant and nurturing environment where members enjoy daily activities, develop essential life skills, and become part of an inclusive community. Our mission is to ensure every member leads a happy, full, and purposeful life, supported by people who care deeply about their well-being.

Today

Today, Tim’s Club is backed by a dedicated founding team with over 40 years of combined experience across education, nonprofit leadership, and inclusive program development. We are guided by a volunteer board and supported by our U.S. fiscal sponsor, Humanitarian Social Innovations.

With the incredible support of our community, we’ve already:

  • Purchased 2,200m² of land for Tim’s Club

  • Completed all architectural plans

  • Raised over $100,000 to date

  • Assembled a trusted local construction team, ready to break ground

Most importantly, we continue to build meaningful relationships with families, educators, and supporters who believe in creating a place where adults with autism and intellectual disabilities can belong, grow, and thrive.

This work is made possible thanks to the dedication and care of people like Nathan, Deb S., Sylvie, Deb B., Olivia, and Kelsey, whose time, energy, and belief continue to shape Tim’s Club every step of the way.
